Notre Dame Restored

 Notre Dame Restored

This post has been a long time coming. Five years ago, Notre Dame De Paris, perhaps the most beautiful cathedral in the world burned down. Like many, many others, I grieved deeply at this loss. It's horrible whenever something beautiful is destroyed, but the burning of Notre Dame was particularly horrible because of its spiritual significance. Notre Dame De Paris is the spiritual heart of France, and one of France's most important symbols. It is one of their holiest places and greatest prides. For it to be destroyed was a terrible loss for them.

But she stands again. Notre Dame De Paris has been rebuilt, and rebuilt to her former glory. Despite heavy pressures to "update" the cathedral by turning it into a post-modern abomination, France insisted that Notre Dame be rebuilt the way she was before. They put forward a massive effort to restore her the way she deserved to be. Her restoration is a true achievement and a true miracle. Despite everything, despite the world we live in being dead-set against it, Notre Dame is as beautiful as she was before. I'm so happy that Notre Dame De Paris is restored. A treasure of France and of the world is glorious again. Blessings to the French for their rebuilding of Notre Dame De Paris, for giving a great gift of beauty to the world.

I am fortunate enough to have been able to visit the restored Notre Dame De Paris and to take pictures there. She is magnificent; France's glory and the world's joy. These photos are mine, a tribute to the cathedral and those who restored her.
